"While many fruit production areas in China enjoyed an abundant harvest this year, the kiwifruit plantations in south China suffered from extreme weather conditions, in particular the cold snap that plagued China in April. The production volume of kiwifruit decreased as a result of these conditions." This is according to Xiao Tao of Qingdao Fengheyuan Ecoagriculture Science and Technology Co., Ltd.

"Our kiwifruit plantation is located near the Yellow Sea and is dominated by a maritime climate with warm winters and cool summers, though the amount of rain is not as great as in south China. Our kiwifruit production volume therefore did not suffer much from the heavy rainfall. I personally do not think that the extreme weather conditions and the subsequent decrease in production volume will raise the price of kiwifruit nationwide. After all, China is large and has a rich variety of natural resources. Kiwifruit plantations are distributed widely and the overall production volume is huge."

"We supply early-season and late-season kiwifruit varieties. The production season begins in September and lasts until November. We pay particular attention to food safety and maintain strict regulations during each aspect of the production chain. We established ecoagricultural, fully automated plantation management based on northern weather conditions and soil conditions: we only use microbic, organic manure; grass grows over the entire plantation; we grow multiple plant varieties together in our plantation and have completely abandoned large-dose applications of chemical pesticides or fertilizers."

"Our company owns 100 hectares of open-field kiwifruit plantation in Baoshan, Qingdao. Our product varieties include yellow fruit flesh and red heart kiwifruit and green fruit flesh kiwifruit. We have spent the last few years mainly expanding the scale of seedling cultivation. The number of mature trees has already reached 1 million. At present, we sell our kiwifruit under our own brand 'Demo Tao'er' through traditional marketing channels as well as e-commerce platforms. Our high-end, organic fresh fruit packaged in gift boxes is sold in supermarkets and wholesale markets in first- and second tier cities throughout China. The most favored gift box contains 15 pieces of top-quality kiwifruit."
