High Liner Foods, prepared frozen seafood products manufacturer in North America, has introduced South Paws Hush Puppy Coated Seafood under its Icelandic foodservice brand.

The company said that the hush puppy is often served with seafood, that's made from cornmeal batter and is fried or baked into a crispy, golden brown ball or sphere shape.

South Paws includes Striped pangasius fillet portion, shrimp, popcorn shrimp, Alaska pollock nuggets, and flounder fillets.

Icelandic Seafood brand manager Jim Papadakis said South Paws capitalizes on culinary inspiration taken by chefs from the traditional, Southern comfort foods.

"Operators who put South Paws on their menu are serving their customers a delicious option that's both distinct and familiar, and available in multiple options to please many different customer tastes," Papadakis said.

The company's popular Yuengling beer battered seafood product line also includes Yuengling Lager Panko Breaded Scallops, Yuengling Lager Battered Haddock, Yuengling Lager Beer Battered Popcorn Fish and and Yuengling Lager Battered Shrimp.
